The Story of This Piece

A Quiet Column of Pink

This tall round bonsai pot is defined by a simple cylindrical profile and an uninterrupted soft pink surface. Its narrow footprint and upright proportions give the vessel a clear vertical presence, making it particularly suitable for compact cascade or semi-cascade compositions.

The body rises almost straight from the base before opening gently toward a rounded, outward-projecting rim. This subtle change at the mouth softens the otherwise restrained silhouette and provides a clean visual finish.

A uniform pink glaze covers both the interior and exterior. Fully applied and finished by hand, the glaze has a smooth, glossy surface with slight variations in tone and reflection. These small differences prevent the colour from appearing flat and preserve the character of the handmade process.

Three gently shaped feet lift the pot above the display surface, creating a small band of shadow beneath the body. Their compact form supports the tall vessel without interrupting its vertical rhythm.

The interior includes a central drainage opening with two smaller auxiliary holes, allowing practical use while retaining the pot’s clean construction. Hand-thrown and fully hand-painted, this piece offers a brighter and more contemporary expression than traditionally dark cascade pots, while remaining quiet enough to frame the planted composition.
