The Story of This Piece

Dragon Above the Waves

A dragon moves around the vessel through rising waves, drifting clouds, and distant mountain forms.

The composition reveals itself gradually as the pot is turned. The dragon’s body curves across the rounded surface, appearing and disappearing between the surrounding motifs. Deep cobalt waves anchor the scene, while warm red, green, and golden details lend it a restrained sense of energy.

The pot’s compact body is supported by three small feet, giving it a light yet stable stance. A narrow gilt rim quietly defines the opening, while the pale interior provides a calm contrast to the animated exterior.

A central drainage hole and smaller auxiliary openings support drainage, airflow, and anchoring during planting.
